Well as you already know I just finished having a show at White Star Bar in Jersey City. That was really nice just networking with people and I was only suppose to show for a few weeks there but it turned into a month. I was really happy to have my work up for others to see everyday and that particular bar was always busy so it received a lot of attention. So I thought that would be my last show for a while and I would take a break for a while and focus on work. And I did! I found a job teaching children art I started out teaching 2 classes and it quickly became 4. So I was very pleased with that. But I forgot that over the summer I had submitted my art to the VAP ( Victory Arts Project) they were doing a 545 artists studio tour and that would be apart of the 2009 Jersey City Artist Tour. So I got in! They choose a piece called " Conversation" a black and white drip painting I had worked on spontaneously in my studio that winded up being one of the most talked about pieces. Last minute I remeasured and found that the piece was too small. I was in a panic and had told the gallery director. He told me not to worry to show that piece and 3-4 others. So I'm really happy!Since it is only a walking tour I will post the art reception for others to attend. But will also be creating my own your for some family, friends and extra guest. I will have people meet me at a location in JC and we will do the walking tour in October and last stop will be my work at the VAP. So that should be really nice I went to the tour last year and had a really great time. Artists let you in their studios, some of the studios are very raw with paint everywhere and you can just see the reflection of what kind of person they are and interest. And some are in awesome brownstones I mean gorgeous! You have to see it to believe in. Haha not to mention my boyfriend loves it because of the wine and cheese they put out. But blocks and blocks of open studios and after parties for artists which are fun.The other really great thing that I've stumbled upon is that I'm usually in Jersey City quite often because my boyfriend had a place there. My most favorite thing to do is go to this great vintage shop called " Hello Again Vintage". I always go in on Saturday or Sunday morning and have so much fun. They always have cute dresses and accessories for under $20! You can walk in with 5 dollars and come home with a vintage dress. So I love going in and shopping and I've made really good friends with the owners. I've been shopping there for a few months now and last weekend I was asked if I would interested in showing some of my art in there Art and Music Festival and Tour this weekend. One of the owners came to my studio and choose 6 paintings and was just really in awe by my work and just really made me feel good as an artist. So I'd like to keep my blog short but had to fill any readers in of my very good luck. I'm just really happy to be blessed with all these great opportunities. I'm just in a point in my life where it's not about selling my art anymore. I'm happy to get it out there for people to see and keep creating because that's what makes me. So who knew but Art is Big All the Time But Huge in September and October! And there are all kinds of art and music tours going on in New York City right now just not Jersey City. Please be sure to check them out because it's not easy being an artist and being supportive of the arts is being supportive of the artist. Love and LightSarah AponteHELLO AGAIN VINTAGE

These artists allow us to view a world that is intriguing and imaginative with a subtle sense of wonder. Their work, filled with people and living things; with color and mathematical and organic forms, is a vibrant personal investigation, a curious look into life and its possibilities.
